Frequently Asked Questions
What is AJICAP™ and how does site-specific conjugation differ from other approaches?
AJICAP™ is a site-specific conjugation technology for native antibodies that enables controlled modification at defined sites on the Fc region.
Unlike conventional stochastic conjugation, which produces a mixture of species with broad DAR distribution, AJICAP™ generates highly homogeneous ADCs with precise DAR control. Compared with other site-specific approaches, AJICAP™ does not require antibody engineering or enzymatic steps, simplifying process development and improving reproducibility.
What DAR values can you achieve with AJICAP™ conjugation?
AJICAP™ enables precise and reproducible DAR control with a tight distribution.
Homogeneous DAR2 is most commonly achieved. In addition, alternative formats such as DAR1, DAR4, dual-payload conjugates, and higher DAR configurations (e.g., DAR 8,10,12) can be supported depending on the conjugation design.
In particular, selective DAR1 is a unique capability of AJICAP™, as only a limited number of conjugation technologies can reliably generate homogeneous DAR1 ADCs.
Overall, AJICAP™ provides flexible DAR design with high homogeneity compared with stochastic conjugation.
Do you offer GMP-grade ADC manufacturing for clinical trials?
We do not directly provide GMP manufacturing for ADCs and other bioconjugates in-house; however, for customers requiring clinical-grade production, we work with qualified global CDMO partners for GMP production. Our team supports process development and technology transfer to enable efficient transition to GMP manufacturing.
This flexible approach allows customers to select manufacturing options that best fit their development strategy.
What linker-payload combinations can you work with?
AJICAP™ is compatible with a wide range of linker-payload designs, including auristatins (e.g., MMAE), maytansinoids, topoisomerase I inhibitors (e.g., camptothecin derivatives such as DXd/exatecan), and PBDs.
The AJICAP™ technology can also support customer-original payloads and can be applied to other bioconjugates, such as peptide and oligonucleotide conjugates, depending on the overall conjugation design.
Can you support both the antibody and the linker-payload, or do we supply them?
Customers typically provide the antibody and linker-payload components.
Our team supports AJICAP™ conjugation process development and analytical characterization, and can provide guidance on linker-payload selection.
For commonly used payload classes in combination with AJICAP™ linkers, material supply from internal inventory may also be available.
For customers requiring manufacturing, qualified CDMO partners can be introduced, while allowing flexibility in material sourcing and development strategy.
What engagement models are available — fee-for-service, development partnership, or licensing?
AJICAP™ is offered through flexible engagement models, including fee-for-service evaluation, development support, and technology licensing. AJICAP™ technology is typically provided under a licensing model, allowing customers to integrate the platform into their own development and manufacturing workflows.
