Notice Regarding the Display of Consumption Tax Under Japan’s Invoice System

Japan’s Qualified Invoice System (the Invoice System) took effect on October 1, 2023. Under this system, tax amounts must be rounded once for each applicable tax rate on each qualified invoice.
For customers who receive a consolidated invoice issued on their designated billing date, GeneDesign Co., Ltd. will use the invoice issued on the billing date as the qualified invoice. Accordingly, the consumption tax amount will no longer be shown on the delivery note accompanying each shipment.
The applicable consumption tax amount will be stated on the invoice issued on the designated billing date. We kindly ask you to refer to this invoice for the applicable tax amount.
The change will be implemented progressively for each customer, as preparations are completed according to their respective billing schedules.
For customers who receive an invoice with each delivery, the consumption tax amount will continue to be shown on the delivery note as before.
